What does a child know?

Well, today I realised the child knows everything. Also, the child is super adaptable and amenable to changes, always willing to learn despite discomfort.

I was very fortunate to observe and learn from one of the most beautiful creations of this cosmos, CHILDREN! My old-time friend came over with her baby to my place, and I learnt the most beautiful lessons from that sweet little one-year-old baby girl!

She is such a sweet, calm, intelligent baby with an extremely amazing EQ. Watching her live her life closely for just four hours taught me so much about our evolution, how the human mind works in its pristine and naive state. She came to our home for the first time with her mom, well, she was sleeping when she came in. As soon as she woke up, she took some time to realize that she was not in familiar settings. She was practically stoned for a while, funny. But as soon as she realised she was not in her usual, familiar territory, which we call home, she felt extremely unsafe and sad. She cried a lot and she made it very clear and evident that she was not happy. Her mother was actively trying to understand what went wrong and she realized that her daughter was experiencing distress and she clinged to her mom for safety. Mother offered everything food, touch, her calm nature and lots of calm talk. She stood by her like a rock. But meanwhile, the kiddo was seeing around, looking around , and behold she found us- two absolute strangers, and then she wailed and wept and created a fuss!

We were stressed and worried, anticipating what to do next, worrying how she would be comfortable and we were sending out the panicked and anxious vibe. Well the kid was like a radar, definitely picked our fear and anguish at her distress.

But then her mother stepped in, and she talked to her and inspired curiosity in her, she gave a comfortable vibe and reinforced that everything was safe yet new. New is an opportunity to explore, to learn and to grow; it is a new land where there may be a new oasis. Together they set out on a tour of our home, picking every pot, pan, touching every plant and noticing every colour and lamp. It was a sheer amazement to see the same howling child, suddenly feeling comfortable, exploring this new land, these new people, giving them a chance to come close to her. She was feeling safe enough to trust, to find out- she may or may not like what she sees, but she is ready to give it a chance. That is probably the only thing our life demands of us, if at all we may consider it a demand or probably a prerequisite. 

She eventually ended up enjoying, laughing and smiling a lot. She had her food and drink, and by the end of it she was completely attuned to all of us and our emotions.

It was amazing to see the change in attitude, her state and her vibe. I was very fortunate to experience this amazing duo! 

What does the kid know?

SURRENDER. TRUST. CURIOSITY.

TRUST IN THE DIVINE/EXISTENCE/PROVIDENCE/YOURSELF FOR YOUR SAFETY AND JUST SURRENDER!

Women's day rant

I find the women's day celebration very hypocritical, given the way women have been oppressed systematically over the decades, and it is still ongoing.  All the women in my life had to choose between their parents, their pre existing lives, their dreams and aspirations and then the aspiration of marital life, motherhood and a family. I see the biggest enemies of women being the senior women in their lives, usually they may be their mothers, mother in laws and random distant relatives. I notice women being excessively nasty to their colleagues too at nearly all ages of life and nearly in all phases of life. I also feel there is a very strong of sense of control in every women, which i feel may be partly as she has been controlled for far too long, she aims to control everyone around. Control is needed for her to feel stronger in herself.
