Women's day rant
I find the women's day celebration very hypocritical, given the way women have been oppressed systematically over the decades, and it is still ongoing.
All the women in my life had to choose between their parents, their pre existing lives, their dreams and aspirations and then the aspiration of marital life, motherhood and a family. I see the biggest enemies of women being the senior women in their lives, usually they may be their mothers, mother in laws and random distant relatives. I notice women being excessively nasty to their colleagues too at nearly all ages of life and nearly in all phases of life.
I also feel there is a very strong of sense of control in every women, which i feel may be partly as she has been controlled for far too long, she aims to control everyone around. Control is needed for her to feel stronger in herself. Being a child, being an adult everywhere I have sensed control as the driving force.
Its a man's world, very few men actually understand or empathize with women. The empowerment women need is of understanding, because all the happy families which we proudly see are built on the sacrifices of women which they made when no one acknowledged them, no one cared for them and the difficulties which nearly all the women , including my mother has faced during pregnancy are unbelievable. Interestingly, the problems remain unchanged over centuries or decades or scriptures.
It's not a rant post, but something to notice, challenges are the same. The women who are strong on their own can rear their own children, have jobs, financial and emotional independence and manage an entire family and its emotional needs are the ones who own this world. God forbid if a woman has a mental illness, or a physical illness, or past history of abuse it makes it impossible for the society to have any mercy on her or integrate her.
Being a woman is harder, honestly, as a woman there have been multiple times I have personally wished to be a man. May it be biologically, mentally, physically, especially the poor independence in most of the societies and religions where systematically they are labelled as "eve"/"evil".
Let us all actually observe what all our mothers or wives have done, for they are the most relatable expression of women's lives. Try to know her, talk about her struggles, understand and appreciate her strength. Love her and know your role in her struggle, whether you worsened it or made it better, not just to guilt trip but to move towards a better world.
In the end I look at my favorite stray cum home cat, she lives life like a solo nomad, concieves, carries and protects and feeds for herself, rears kittens, keeps them safe ferociously( have watched her snatch the crap out of the male cats trying to kill her child), lets them go when they are adult and does it all over again. We accepted her as she is, never trying to change her, but offering her help all the way along so she can handle all the challenges.
