(UN)Productivity

This world is running, let me reemphasize running, and is trying to get every task done quicker, with minimum mental engagement, and the most accurate. But it makes me wonder why in this era of ultrafast work, have we spoken most about mindfulness? Why are we following food blogs, and farming blogs where a sweet granny is making fruit bread softly and having colorful nettle tea? Can we actually dig deep inside and find out what we actually dream about and want?

In a world, where virtual reality is conquering the scenario yet does reading a book, smelling its pages, and putting your initials or a tiny heart at your favorite line, light up your heart? Can we imagine an author of a book talking to us and giving us the same joys, and thrills that an unimagined narrative voice could?

Maybe it's a good thing to finish our work early and do it better... but do we have a personal life that we actually wanna go back to in the extra time we spared/created? Do we now pursue a hobby to advertise our versatility on social media and are we totally a different person on it?

This blog is more of a brainstorming session for me where a series of questions are revealing more about this life that runs. The high cortisols and tensions are palpable at all ages let's start with what I remember firsthand, Remember when children could play freely and the only tense exams were board exams and entrances? Now kids have computer-based and mobile applications which teach them advanced math and science way before. It's technically preponing anxiety. Well once you do enter graduation, you MUST prepare for post-graduation as soon as you can? Like maybe the first day itself... God knows. I remember my faculty telling me how they decided what specialization they wanted to pursue after a year of non-specific residency in a hospital. If you even dare mention it to someone from today's generation, they would probably faint and suffer a head injury. For they are sure that its sheer waste of time!

We are outsourcing our own duties and responsibilities, and it's a little more than assistance- for example, the calendar is remembering our friends' birthdates and anniversaries. Don't be scared, I am no sociopath who goes on a killing spree if dates are forgotten... Important dates were special days we should or did keep aside to spend them well with our loved ones.

But now an Alexa reminds us, orders gifts for them while we lay on the couch hopeless and dealing with loneliness and depression. Did we help ourselves or did we make it harder for ourselves?

Today I am expressing my feelings on a laptop and probably my predecessors used a typewriter, a pen, a pencil, reed brushes on papyrus, or even cave paintings. The purpose remains to share a piece of yourself with the world, a piece you find worth sharing, worthy of hope, and a reminder of our vulnerability and humanity.

Who decides what a burden is- are the intricate details provided by Kafka or Dostoevsky a pain or could they be replaced by mechanical jargon?

We must rethink whether we are outsourcing our very selves and how much are we giving up on to run faster and win this race with HIGHEST PRODUCTIVITY and SMARTEST WORK!

Yet, I bring to you a contradictory image.

This weather frog is a beautiful reminder of feelings of amazement, peace, and a serenity-like thrill when we see a bunch of fireflies in the dusky sky, which has been portrayed so well with an app- Frogweather.

Future filled with Hope, Iguess?
